Disruption to Identity and Password management operations in Office 365 - Friday 20 October 2017

We are pleased to confirm this work was completed, tests run and services monitored. All work has been completed successfully.

We are making some changes to the password and identification systems used by Office 365. Starting 14:00 Friday (20 October). This work will continue throughout the weekend.

Email and Calendar (live @ UCL), SharePoint and Skype for Business and other services using Office 365 authentication will be affected.

Office 365 and all associated services will continue to be available, however the following supporting operations will be postponed until after the migration:

  • Password changes
  • New mailboxes for new starters
  • Licence updates
  • Identity changes
  • Requests for new shared and resource mailboxes
  • Membership updates to distribution lists which are linked to departmental data

If a password change is processed just before or during this period then users can use their old password. The new password will synchronise once the migration is complete.
