REDCap (Research Data Collection Service)

REDCap is a mature, secure web application for building and managing online surveys and databases.

While REDCap can be used to collect virtually any type of data, it is specifically geared to support data capture for research studies.  More information can be found on the Project REDCap.

The SLMS REDCap service is run by IT for SLMS to provide a simple web based tool for creating online surveys, eCRFs and other research data collection needs.  Its interface makes it straightforward for anybody to create and manage data collection tools, whilst also supporting more complex data management activities (Double entry, randomisation, data cleansing, anonymisation, etc).

There are two versions of the service: one that is run on our standard IT systems and one running in the Data Safe Haven.  If you are collecting identifiable data you should contact our Information Governance Advisory Service (slms.pid@ucl.ac.uk) to discuss whether you need to user the Data Safe Haven for your study.

This service is available for any UCL research study. Please note: REDCap is not validated for MHRA CTIMPs.

There is no charge for this service.
