The Faculty of Brain Sciences brings together our expertise in psychology, psychiatry, prion diseases, ophthalmology and vision, language sciences, audiology, deafness and hearing, neurology and related basic neuroscience. Our outstanding research spans the bench to bedside spectrum and has global impact. Our education portfolio creates the next generation of leaders; we provide a stimulating and rewarding student experience which enhances employability and supports career development prospects. The Faculty of Population Health Sciences comprises 7 Institutes, creating a powerhouse of research and teaching on population health. It is one of four Faculties within the UCL School of Life and Medical Sciences. Our research elucidates the biological, behavioural and psycho-social processes that operate across an individual’s life, and across generations, that affect the development of disease in populations. This research informs our undergraduate, postgraduate and vocational teaching.
Our Faculty comprises UCL Biosciences (with four constituent research departments), UCL School of Pharmacy (also with four constituent research departments) and the Laboratory of Molecular Cell Biology, as well as hosting two of the world’s leading neuroscience institutes, the Gatsby Computational Neuroscience Unit and the Sainsbury Wellcome Centre for Neural Circuits and Behaviour.
The Faculty of Medical Sciences brings together UCL Medical School and six of UCL's Divisions and Institutes, creating a powerhouse of medical science research and teaching.
