Searching the Global Address List (GAL) in Thunderbird with add-on pack

By default, Thunderbird with add-on pack will automatically connect to the UCL Global Address List (GAL) when it was first set up using the Exquilla add-on in Exchange mode.

You will have access to search for anyone in the GAL database.

Instructions

To use the GAL to find a contact:

1. On the Navigation Pane at the top of the screen, select Address Book.

2. Select your Exchange address book in the folder list on the left. The address book will be named your userID @ live.ucl.ac.uk/GAL or your userID @ live.ucl.ac.uk/GAL. This will ensure you are searching in the GAL.

3. Now use the search box at the top to search for your contact and the results will populate according to your search keywords.
