Meet the Digital Education Futures team.
The Digital Education Futures team is led by Steve Rowett. They are responsible for horizon scanning, trialling and evaluating new technologies and pedagogies, as well as designing and evaluating technology-enhanced physical learning spaces.
Steve Rowett Email contact | Steve joined UCL in 2000 after working in a similar role at the University of Surrey. His work at UCL mostly involves developing new services to support and enhance the student experience. These have included the student laptop loan scheme and the Reflect blogging service. His current work is around assessment, including the procurement and implementation of an e-assessment system to support formative and summative assessment. | |
Janina Dewitz Email contact | Janina joined Digital Education Futures in December 2012. Her role involves horizon scanning and trialling new technologies for learning and teaching, including open badges, social media, gamification, augmented reality and anything else that emerges. | |
David Goddard Digital Student Experience Product Owner | David joined UCL in 2008 from QMUL. During his career he has been involved in the development and deployment of digital technologies that have transformed the experience of students across the entire lifecycle of their interactions with the University, whether that be through interactions with lecturers, peers, societies, the union, library or many other touch points. As a new member of the team he's excited about defining the vision for a connected, frictionless digital experience for students that multiples and magnifies the benefits the UCL experience delivers. | |
Coral Zawadzki Learning Technologist | Coral joined UCL as a Learning Technologist in March 2023. She previously held similar roles in both faculty and central teams at the University of Portsmouth for over 10 years. Coral loves to learn and has a keen interest in human computer interaction, accessibility and immersive technologies. She has an MSc in Information Systems, and is currently a PhD candidate in Creative Technologies, researching how virtual reality can enhance teacher training in higher education. She is also an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. | |
Geraldine Foley Senior Learning Technologist | Geraldine joined UCL in 2023 as a Senior Learning Technologist focusing on UCL East. She has worked in Higher Education for over eighteen years, with central and faculty-based learning technology roles at City University of London and London School of Economics. She has a PGCert, is a Fellow of the HEA and a CMALT assessor. She has an interest in learning design, game-based learning, active learning, peer learning, students as producers and students as partners projects. |
