Information about how to access the Alumni Email service
The Alumni Email service is provided as a benefit to UCL alumni. The service provides an Email mailbox, Calendar, Contacts and To Do functionality. Access to the service is supported using Outlook Web Access.
From 8 December the Alumni Email service will be hosted on its own Microsoft platform, separate from current staff and students. Alumni must opt in to the Alumni Email service if they wish to have an alumni email address going forward. Alumni will be emailed when they become an alumni, with information about how to opt in to the service.
Logging in to the Alumni Email service for the first time
When you log in the the Alumni Email service for the first time, you will need to set your password and then register for MFA (Multi-Factor Authentication).
Step 1: Set your password
- Go to https://outlook.office.com/mail/ on a private tab/window on your internet browser.
- Enter your email address (e.g. joe.blogg.25@alumni.ucl.ac.uk) and click Next.
Your alumni email address will be included in the email you received notifying you that your account has been created.
- Click Forgot my password.

- Enter your email address and enter the characters in the image
- Follow the on-screen instructions to receive a verification code
- Enter your new password.
Step 2: Sign in and register for MFA (Multi-Factor Authentication)
You will be required to set up MFA on your account when you first access it.
- Sign in to your account at https://outlook.office.com/mail/
- Follow the on screen prompts to secure your account with MFA.
