FAQs

What is the AI@UCL pilot?

UCL is exploring how AI can responsibly support the work we do, in a managed environment that reflects our values around privacy and data. Rather than waiting until everything is perfect, we are releasing early and learning as we go. The pilot gives selected staff early access to two AI agents, UCL Essentials and UCL Insights, through the AI Store. Feedback during the pilot will directly shape how the service develops.

Who can access the pilot and how do I join?

The pilot is currently open to selected Professional Services staff by invitation. Access will expand to more staff (and eventually students) over time. If you have not been invited but would like to be considered for future access, register your interest.

Is my data safe?

Your prompts and responses are never used to train external AI models. Usage is logged to ensure the service is used safely and fairly, and to manage costs during the pilot. For full details, see the AI@UCL Privacy Notice.

Are there any limitations I should know about?

AI can make mistakes. Always review outputs carefully before sharing or acting on them. Do not enter sensitive or personal data. During the pilot, daily usage limits may apply; you will be notified in the platform if you are approaching yours.

Who do I contact for help?

For technical issues or if you cannot access the service, submit a ticket through MyServices.
