WVUK was funded in October 2017 by 3 members of the UCL Institute of Ophthalmology, Dr Maryse Bailly, Prof Julie Daniels and Dr Mariya Moosajee, and has since expanded UK wide
In June 2019, the women in vision elected the first WVUK committee:

Angharad is a postdoctoral research associate at the School of Optometry and Vision Science at Cardiff University and a practicing paediatric optometrist. Bethany is a PhD student in the Crabb Lab at City, University of London, studying Optometry and Visual Science. Samantha is a medical retina Fellow at Moorfields Eye Hospital.
