14 October 2024
Two academics from UCL Institute of Ophthalmology are featured in this fascinating documentary on developmental biology.
UCL Institute of Ophthalmology's Professor Pete Coffey and Dr Rodrigo Young share their expertise in a new half-hour documentary that explores the importance and the translatability of developmental biology research. The documentary was commissioned by The Company of Biologists, the not-for-profit publisher of journal Development and Journal of Cell Science, among others.
Following visits to various laboratories in the UK, the film crew hear from Professor Coffey and Dr Young about the significance of developmental biology research in understanding eye development in embryos, and the relevant applications that come from this, including innovative treatments aimed at restoring vision.
