Awards for equality, diversity and inclusion at the IoO
19 July 2022
Congratulations to Rashmi Mathew and Christin Henein for receiving the UCL 2022 Inclusion Awards.
Associate Professor Rashmi Mathew and Dr Christin Henein received the Sarah Guise Award for Catalyst for Change, which recognises a person or a team doing things differently by incorporating EDI values into the way they work, resulting in a positive shift in UCL culture.
They said:
“These awards mean so much to us, as an inclusive curriculum means the content we teach raises students awareness about health inequalities and the nuances of diagnosing and treating different populations. It also means that the way we deliver our content is inclusive and enables each student to feel valued and fully participate. In turn, our health professionals of the future are better equipped to care for diverse and complex patient populations.
