Research Fellow to work in the Cell-cell adhesion Lab

Duties and Responsibilities
The research fellow will join the groups headed by Maria Balda and Karl Matter at the IoO.
The duties and responsibilities are to study cell-cell adhesion-associated signalling mechanisms during retinal ageing. S(he) will be working with retinal cell culture models to identify molecular mechanisms of retinal ageing regulated by cell-cell adhesion proteins and employ mouse models to test results in vivo.
The position is funded by the Macular Society until 30 September 2025 in the first instance.
Key Requirements
This position requires a PhD in Cell/Molecular/Developmental Biology, Biochemistry, or another related discipline.
The person appointed will have experience in tissue culture and molecular cell biology (protein and mRNA expression, quantitative biochemical and cell-based assays, fluorescence microscopy). Experience in experimental mouse work would be an advantage (animal handling, tissue analysis).
