Duties and responsibilities

The Education Marketing Manager is a key member at UCL Institute of Ophthalmology (IoO, part of the UCL Faculty of Brain Sciences) and Moorfields Eye Hospital (MEH), responsible for the management and delivery of the education marketing strategy and plan at strategic and operational levels for the joint IoO/MEH education partnership.

The postholder will support UCL IoO and MEH in developing and implementing the strategy required to support the joint education vision, overarching strategy and brand. They will be responsible to support the recruitment of students to increase student numbers into existing and new teaching programmes run by the UCL IoO/Moorfields joint education partnership including postgraduate taught and research programmes, short courses and apprenticeship programmes. They will also be responsible in organising and managing meetings and events hosted by the joint education partnership.

The position is available immediately and funded until 31 December 2020 in the first instance with the possibility of extension.

Key Requirements

Candidates must be educated to degree standard or have equivalent experience, have a recognized marketing qualification or experience/training equivalent, experience in marketing planning, delivery and evaluation, extensive experience of writing, editing and sub-editing, and excellent organizational, time-management and project management skills.  Essential knowledge includes marketing theory and best practice, and marketing communications techniques. 

In addition applicants should have demonstrable initiative, creativity and a positive can-do attitude. Ideally, the post-holder will have extensive knowledge of graphic design, photography, art direction and typography together with experience of simple video production.
