Overseas Examinations

Students on the PG Certificate in Clinical Neurology (via Distance Learning) who are based overseas take their MCQ exams at an appropriate examination centre local to where they are based. We advise students to select an examination centre that is most convenient to them, for example, the British Council offer this service to students based overseas.

Please note that all students based in the UK will come to Queen Square in London to sit their examinations.

Candidates sitting their examinationss overseas are responsible for confirming with the examination centres the exact venue, exact reporting time and exact starting and finishing times. You will be required to observe all the instructions given to you by the invigilators or examination officers responsible for the conduct of the examination. You must comply with the instructions given in the rubric of the online examination. You may not bring into the examination room any notes, paper or other materials except those which have specifically been permitted in the examination by the examiners. Cheating is an examination offence and may lead to exclusion from all future examinations in the University.

Candidates sitting their examinations overseas will be charged a local fee by their chosen centre. The centre is responsible for the collection of that fee. The University takes no responsibility whatsoever either for the amount of the fee charged or the collection or refund of such fees. Details of the current fees may be obtained direct from the centre concerned.

Each module is assessed by an MCQ exam. You are required to sit two exams for the basic modules together.

  • Stroke, Epilepsy and Rehabilitation - Basic (CLNE0017)
  • Neurodegenerative, Infectious and Inflammatory Diseases of the Nervous System - Basic (CLNE0013)
  • Neurology and Neurosurgery - Basic (CLNE0012)
  • Common Problems in Neurological Practice - Basic (CLNE0014)

You will need to sit all the basic module MCQ exams in two slots, either two exams in one day or if you are based overseas, four spread over two days (e.g. two exams on day one and two on day two).

Each MCQ exam is two hours in length.
