Dr Laura Silveira-Moriyama

Dr Laura Silveira Moriyama is a British-Brazilian neurologist with a strong passion for teaching and promoting clinical excellence in limited resource settings.

During her years in Queen Square (2004-2014) she published extensively in movement disorders and became heavily involved in teaching. She served as clinical tutor for the budding distance learning program in Clinical Neurology. Dr Silveira-Moriyama shaped the curriculum, assessments and supported students who enrolled on the programme creating the framework for the current success of the MSc in Clinical Neurology via Distance Learning. In 2018 a student award was created in her name, which demonstrates her importance to both the programme and teaching at Queen Square. She is currently a professor of neurology at her home country and she remains an active collaborator in our teaching activities.
