Research Degree Programme Coordinator
I have been part of the IoN Education Team since 2019 and my main duties include managing the organisation of the postgraduate research (PGR) degree programmes, guiding students on timelines and progression milestones and supporting research students from the time of admission through to the awarding of their research degree. I also have great focus on student experience, acting as the secretary to the PGR Staff Student Consultative Committee (SSCC) and Higher Degrees Sub-Committee (HDSC) where staff and students gather to discuss student feedback and methods of improvement for PGR programmes and student experience. This led to the formation of the IoN PGR News Bulletin which I create, edit and distribute in accordance to student needs. Additionally, I am an active member of the IoN Athena Swan committee, being part of the ‘Students and Education’ and ‘EDI’ action groups, and also a member of the Faculty of Brain Sciences Race Equity team. My core values include compassion, acceptance, kindness, reliability and open-mindedness, all of which led me to working in Higher Education and taking on an additional role as a UCL Dignity Advisor giving me the extra opportunity to support others.
