Dr Musa Watila

Dr Musa Watila is an Honorary Clinical Teaching Fellow at the Queen Square Institute of Neurology

He completed his PhD in Neurology at the end of 2019 from the Department of Clinical and Experimental Epilepsy within the Institute which focused on Epilepsy in the UK and Nigeria.


Musa graduated from the University of Maiduguri, Northeast Nigeria in 2000. In 2009, he became a Fellow Medical College of Physicians of the Nigerian Postgraduate Medical College in Internal Medicine and Neurology. In 2014, he obtained an MSc in Clinical Neurology with Distinction from UCL. Prior to undertaking a PhD in November 2015, he worked as a Lecturer and clinician at the University of Maiduguri and the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital. 
He is now doing some research on the use of telemedicine and is working with the education team to develop free online teaching resources for the practical application of diagnosing and management of neurological conditions in countries where access and resources are limited. 


He supervises MSc students and has been a mentor/adviser to other MSc students coming from Africa to study in the UK. He is working towards getting the Associate Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy at UCL.
