This symposium addressed how advances in neuroscience and in particular brain imaging have influenced the way we think about how people recover from stroke.

Topics discussed:

  • clinical aspects of neuroplasticity after stroke
  • modern approaches to neurorehabilitation
  • how understanding neuroplasticity is leading to new therapeutic targets
  • how brain imaging might be used to predict outcomes after stroke
  • how improved predictive models will allow stratified therapeutic trials
  • how we might use web based therapy to deliver treatment to patients' homes
