Professor Olga Ciccarelli named Deputy Editor for Neurology

We're delighted to announce that Professor Olga Ciccarelli, Professor of Neurology and Head of the Department of Neuroinflammation, Queen Square Multiple Sclerosis Centre, UCL Queen Square Institute of Neurology, has been named Deputy Editor for the journal Neurology

Neurology® is the most widely read and highly cited clinical neurology journal, published by the American Academy of Neurology. Professor Ciccarelli was appointed to the post by José G. Merino, MD, MPhil, FAHA, FAAN, Professor of Neurology at Georgetown Medical School, Washington, DC, who begins his official term as the new Editor-in-Chief of the journal on April 1.

The Deputy Editor, in addition to serving as an Associate Editor of the Journal, also serves in a senior advisory role to the Editor-in-Chief in the development and implementation of the strategic vision for the Journal. She also serves as Editor-in-Chief and makes final decisions on manuscripts when the Editor-in-Chief is on vacations or otherwise away from the editorial office for extended periods.  As an Associate Editor of the Journal, Professor Ciccarelli serves as a sub-editor for the specific scientific portfolio covering neuroimmunology for the Journal and was selected based on editorial experience and high standing in the international neurology community.

Professor Ciccarelli formerly served the Journal as an Associate Editor under the current Editor-in-Chief, Robert A. Gross, MD, PhD, FANA, FAAN, Professor of Neurology and of Pharmacology and Physiology and Associate Chair for Academic Affairs, Neurology, at the Strong Epilepsy Center, University of Rochester Medical Center.
