Clinical Teaching Awards 2011/12

The Education Unit is delighted to announce two teaching awards for Clinical teachers, the Djamshidian-Chinthapalli award for outstanding contribution to bedside teaching and the 2011/12 Clinical Tutor of the Year award.
Dr Tabish Saifee (Department of Motor Neuroscience and Movement Disorders) and Dr Orlando Swayne (Specialist Registrar in Neurology, Rehabiliation services) have been presented with the Djamshidian-Chinthapalli award for outstanding contribution to teaching. MSc and Diploma in Clinical Neurology students voted for the best bedside teacher of the year (2011/12) and Orlando and Tabish polled the same number of votes.
An honourable mention to Dr Jasper Morrow, Dr Iciar Olmos, Dr Ashwani Jha and Dr Niamh Cawley who all polled votes, and Dr Jonathan Rohrer and Dr Rimona Weil who received a special mention.
Dr Mark Edwards (Senior Consultant, Department of Motor Neuroscience and Movement
Disorders) has been presented with the Clinical Tutor of the Year award for 2011/12. The award was presented to him by MSc and Diploma in Clinical Neurology students who voted him as the best clinical tutor of the year. The students cited his dedication, patience and skill as a teacher as the reasons for selecting him above other clinicians at Queen Square.
The Education Unit would like to thank all the clinicians at Queen Square who contributed to clinical teaching for both postgraduate and undergraduate students this academic year.
