Acoustic Neuroma

Medline NLM definition:  A progressively enlarging tumor within the auditory canal arising from the eighth cranial nerve. This solitary form is usually unilateral, tends to develop later in life, and is not inherited as compared to the acoustic neuromas arising in neurofibromatosis 2.
