    Highlighting their 2017 rebrand - featuring their supporters who have all been affected by a neurological condition and the scientists carrying out neurological research. Filmed February 2017. Launched April 2017.

  • Mentored by a Madman: The William Burroughs Experiment

    A conversation with A.J.Lees and Mike Zandi. Hanging out with the molecules. A guide to neurology, discovery, Parkinson’s Disease, William Burroughs, Queen Square, in which Professor Lees calls for a more creative approach to research. The film puts a spotlight on William Gowers and the process of neurology, and includes footage of original Gowers’ materials, which are held in Queen Square Archives, including case notes, illustrations, correspondence and first editions.

  • Interview with National Hospital consultant Jeremy Chataway

    Explaining his new trial into the use of simvastatin as a possible treatment for multiple sclerosis.  Filmed December 2016. Launched May 2017.

Queen Square Archives open day February 2017

An annual event for staff and students in the Square, showcasing case notes from the Archives, including Horsley's first brain operations and shell-shock treatment in WW1.

Digitization & donations

  • Extensive collection of Gowers correspondence and children’s journals
  • Sir Victor Horsley photographs - Fourteen photos donated by the Horsley family, including Horsley and colleagues, Horsley in uniform, group photographs and Horsley’s grave;
  • Sir Walter Morley Fletcher’s collection of World War 1 case notes, 1915-1917
