Clone of Clinical Divisions

In addition to belonging to a Research Department, the academic staff also belong to one of six different Divisions: these have been established to ensure that professional affiliations are well represented and to provide a forum for those with similar specialist training.

Clinical Neurology

The Division of Clinical Neurology exists to bring together all Professors, Readers, Senior Lecturers and Honorary Senior Lecturers working at the Institute of Neurology. Many of the Honorary Senior Lecturers are full time NHS Consultants working at The National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery which is a leading centre for the diagnosis, treatment and care of patients with a wide range of neurological conditions. Many members of the division also belong to research departments with a specific focus, however the Division of Clinical Neurology allows them to come together to discuss matters of common interest.

Neuropathology

The Division of Neuropathology at Queen Square is a leading academic and diagnostic neuropathology department in the UK. The department provides services for the National Hospital of Neurology and Neurosurgery, University College London Hospital, and receives a substantial number of national referrals

Neurophysiology

Our vision is to provide timely, state of the art diagnostic service, therapy and teaching in all aspects of clinical neurophysiology which is underpinned by multi-disciplinary translational research. There are links with the UCLH's Centre for Neuromuscular Disease, the MRC Centre for Neuromusclar Diseases and the National Society for Epilepsy's Chalfont Centre.

Neuropsychiatry

The Department of Neuropsychiatry offers general and specialised outpatient clinics, inpatient admissions and a consultation-liaison service for inpatients admitted to NHNN. Outpatient services include general neuropsychiatry clinics, multidisciplinary clinics to assess patients prior to admission for neuropsychiatric rehabilitation programmes and a specialist Tourette’s Syndrome clinic.

Neuroradiology & Neurophysics

The Division of Neuroradiology and Neurophysics exists to bring together Radiologists and Physicists at the Institute of Neurology, regardless of the Research Department they may be in, to discuss and act on matters of common interest. These include professional matters and scientific issues. It also acts as a forum for dissemination of information relevant to members.

Neurosurgery

The Division of Neurosurgery in the UCL Queen Square Institute of Neurology, through its close partnership with the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, is committed to advancing neurosurgical care for the current and next generations of patients through world class research, excellent training and education, and top quality clinical care.
