Laboratory gases

The purpose of this initiative is to improve existing approaches to how IoN manages laboratory gas supplies by coordinating inventory monitoring and gas replenishment processes.

Overview

The initiative aims to provide a wide range of laboratory gases, uninterrupted and to point of use, that are supported by centralised management solutions to ensure that distribution requirements are coordinated effectively and that costs are distributed in a fair and equitable manner.

Goals

  • Standardise approaches to gas safety and staff training programmes to guarantee regulatory and safety compliance.
  • Ensure that all gas supply and distribution equipment systems are managed effectively throughout their lifecycle.
  • Enable flexible provision of gas supply needs via an online booking solution, where appropriate.
  • Consolidate the necessary infrastructure, equipment and expertise to form a centrally managed gas monitoring and supply facility.
  • Streamline administrative procedures associated with gas provision, invoicing and cost allocation / provision for the use of gas resources.

Benefits

  • Time and cost savings on administrative procedures associated with gas supply procurement, cost allocation and invoice processing.
  • A more efficient solution to monitor gas inventories and to order replenishment supplies.
  • A solution which ensures that safety compliance, training and reporting mechanisms are in place prior to laboratory gas delivery and use.
  • Significant cost savings on liquid nitrogen supply needs through onsite production facilities.
  • Reduced expenditure on equipment maintenance and repair costs by restricting access to infrastructure delivery systems to trained and dedicated technical personnel.
