The Arbor programme aims to facilitate knowledge-exchange between researchers, artists, and communities who are working with or have lived experience of neurological disease.
We are looking for artists and researchers to take part in the second round of the programme in 2024-5, who are interested in creative collaboration and deepening their experience and practice by working communities. The programme runs in three phases:
- 20 artists and 20 researchers meet and share their areas of interest and knowledge.
- Ten groups or partnerships are given £1,500 of funding to develop ideas for a collaborative commission.
- Five groups are funded £15,000 to create a commission, which must be a co-creation between at least one artist, at least one UCL researcher and a relevant community of interest.
The work that is created could potentially be exhibited at Queen Square Institute of Neurology/Dementia Research Institute, the Rare Dementia Support Centre and local community areas. The outcomes could be temporary, performance works, digital, sound or text, event, or artworks that could potentially be integrated permanently within the building at 256 Grays Inn Road.
