Art and Architecture

We have commissioned a range of permanent and temporary public art commissions

Our public arts programme is being developed around a number of key permanent and temporary public art commissions.

For the main artwork commission, Annie Cattrell has been embedded in the design process since early 2020, collaborating closely with the project architects Hawkins\Brown and has had the opportunity to immerse herself in the research around the work of the academics and researchers to understand the experiences of those patients and visitors who are visiting the building.

Freya Gabie was invited to join the project in 2021 as Artist in Residence to explore the unique history of the site itself and its significance as a hospital, creating an archive of research as well as a series of works that could be integrated into both buildings of the dual hub - 256 Grays Inn Road and Queen Square.
