System dynamics to study the change from schools and school board inspections
In this project we use methodology from system dynamics (group model building to build causal loop diagrams) to understand (nonlinear) change of school systems (schools, school boards) over time in response to changes in the Dutch inspection framework. The study, funded by the Dutch Research council and the Dutch Inspectorate of Education, allows us to understand how and when the new inspection framework, which evaluates performance of school boards, has an impact on the functioning of schools and their school boards.
