Sometimes we all need a friendly ear to listen. The IOE has a lovely bunch of mental health champions who you can speak to informally and confidentially. It's ok to not always be ok.
Meet your Mental Health Champions
Emma Leighton
e.leighton@ucl.ac.uk
My name is Emma Leighton and I’m a programme administrator for the Psychology and Human Development Department at the UCL Institute of Education. I’m mum to an active 3 year-old and a socially distant cat both of whom like to appear in video calls. When I’m not working, I can usually be found chatting to my neighbours over the garden fence with a mug of tea.
Lorraine Fernandes
l.fernandes@ucl.ac.uk
I am Lorraine, a Programme Services Coordinator at IOE. I have worked in Higher Education for a number of years and have always enjoyed talking to students during the course of their academic journeys. In my spare time I enjoy cooking, discovering new restaurants with friends, and watching way too much crime drama (I’ve been told)!
Nick Watts
nick.watts@ucl.ac.uk
Nick has been working in education since 2004 and at UCL since 2017. He is committed to providing a great student experience and has a keen interest in wellbeing.
