Calorie labelling of food on menus and products leads people to choose slightly fewer calories finds a new Cochrane review co-led by Dr Gareth Hollands (IOE, UCL's Faculty of Education).

Families who want to have children are waiting longer to try for them because of economic factors such as higher inflation, the rising cost of living and housing prices, and according to research from the UCL Centre for Longitudinal Studies (CLS).

“The Labour Party is playing to an old playbook, assuming the Awami League best represents the UK Bangladeshi diaspora,” said Dr Ashraf Hoque (IOE, UCL's Faculty of Education & Society), on Labour’s connection to Bangladesh’s ousted ruling party.

“Labour historically understood the Awami League was a good vehicle to get votes, but… it holds the misguided view that it still commands support in the community,” said Dr Ashraf Hoque (IOE, UCL's Faculty of Education & Society), on Bangladesh’s ousted ruling party.

“The enormous amount of press coverage might have scared some parents but the best statistical evidence shows that the impact of past changes to private school fees on attendance isn’t great,” said Professor Francis Green (IOE, UCL's Faculty of Education & Society).

Professor Gary McCulloch (IOE, UCL's Faculty of Education & Society) describes the political efforts and research that went into passing the 1944 Education Act, which transformed secondary education by creating Technical, Secondary Modern and Grammar schools.

“The first step is to make sure that the food within easy reach – on your kitchen counter, in your backpack, on your desk – is healthy,” said Alex Ruani (IOE, UCL's Faculty of Education & Society) offering tips for healthy snacking.

Professor Francis Green (IOE, UCL's Faculty of Education & Society) said: “the British private school system is a unique outlier. It’s a substantial and very exclusive sector of the education system.”

Working women in their early 30s in England are paid less than men of the same age, in the same types of jobs, who have similar levels of education and work experience, finds a new study by Dr Bożena Wielgoszewska (UCL Centre for Longitudinal Studies).

Professor Rose Luckin (IOE, UCL’s Faculty of Education & Society) said that many companies and institutions are struggling to determine the best policies around artificial intelligence, and even who within the organisation is best to set those policies.
