IOE academic elected as a member to the executive committee of the AERA

Dr Victoria Showunmi is one of two International Scholars to be elected to the Special Interest Groups (SIG) Executive Committee as a Member-at-Large for the American Educational Research Association (AERA).

Dr Showunmi is a Lecturer in Education at the UCL Institute of Education's Department of Education, Practice and Society. Her research interests include leadership, women's development, race and identity. Her three year term with AREA started on Saturday 1 May 2019.
AERA, founded in 1916, is concerned with improving the educational process by encouraging scholarly inquiry related to education and evaluation and by promoting the dissemination and practical application of research results.
The Special Interest Groups Executive Committee provides general oversight for the operations of Special Interest Groups and makes recommendations to the Association Council regarding their establishment or dissolution.
