Professor Toby Greany appointed Vice Dean - Enterprise and Dr Trevor Male Interim Head of LCLL

27 September 2017

Toby Greany

We are delighted to announce that Professor Toby Greany is now the UCL Institute of Education's (IOE) Vice Dean - Enterprise.

The Vice Dean - Enterprise role involves working with UCL's Vice Provost - Enterprise & London (Celia Caulcott) and with the equivalent Vice Deans from across UCL to stimulate and encourage enterprise-related activity. It also involves acting as the IOE's 'London Champion', contributing towards the UCL 2034 Theme 5: London's Global University.

Speaking of his appointment, Professor Becky Francis, Director of the IOE, said:
"I'm really pleased that Toby has taken on the role of Vice-Dean Enterprise. Enterprise is an increasingly important activity for us, in terms of the contribution that we are able to make to improving education and related provision, in terms of how that can feed back into and enhance our teaching and research, and in terms of our financial sustainability. We have a good track record in securing (often large-scale) projects that make a real difference to people's lives - and there is further potential to grow that work."

Dr Trevor Male has taken over from Professor Greany as Interim Director of the London Centre for Leadership in Learning (LCLL).

Commenting on both appointments, Professor Dominic Wyse, Head of the Department of Learning and Leadership, said:

"Excellent news for the IOE that Toby Greany is taking up the role of Vice-Dean Enterprise. Enterprise is a vital part of the work we do. Toby will continue to work for the Department of Learning and Leadership as well, in relation to his work on leadership and school systems.

"We're really pleased that Trevor Male has been appointed as Interim Director of LCLL. Trevor brings a wealth of experience of management in Higher Education, and has made an important contribution to the work of LCLL."
