Dr Roberto Filippi to give talk on the multi-linguistic experience

6 June 2017

Roberto Filippi

Dr Roberto Filippi from the Centre for Language, Literacy and Numeracy: Research & Practice (LLN:R&P) will give a talk during a day long workshop at the University of Reading later this month.

The workshop, 'Bi-/Multilingualism and the Declining Brain', will bring together early career and established researchers in the fields of second language acquisition and cognitive/clinical neuroscience, and will comprise a state-of-the-art snapshot in the field, as well as discuss potential future directions for research.

Professor Filippi's talk will discuss the effects of a multi-linguistic experience across the human lifespan, taking a developmental, neuroconstructivist approach. He discussed the relationship between bilingualism and attention spans with The Naked Scientists in May.

Other UCL colleagues speaking at the event include Dr Dean D'Souza and Professor David Green.

The event is open to all and free to attend.
