Chloë Marshall appointed Professor of Psychology, Language and Education

Chloë Marshall has been appointed Professor of Psychology, language and Education, at the UCL Institute of Education (IOE).

Professor Marshall dedicated her early career at UCL and City, University of London, to the research of typical language and literacy development, and in particular to the specific language and literacy difficulties faced by children with dyslexia, Specific Language Impairment, and hearing impairment.

She joined the IOE in 2011 as a senior lecturer, where she has been involved in teaching both graduate and post-graduate programmes and is now programme leader for the MA/MSc in Educational Neuroscience.

Professor Marshall also contributes to academic life as the Editor-in-chief of the journal First Language and is on the editorial boards of five other journals. She is the holder of several grants including a recent International Academic Fellowship from the Leverhulme Trust to study sign language learning in hearing adults.
