Thinking through making: cycles of decolonising teaching, research, and policy-making
Explore how practice-based research - particularly through making and engagement with materials - can shape the intersection of teaching, research, and decolonial policy-making.
This UCL Knowledge Lab seminar will examine case studies in which efforts to decolonise the curriculum have generated ongoing cycles between pedagogical practice, academic research, and institutional policy development.
The seminar will focus on interdisciplinary research within Global South contexts, highlighting how such work has informed academic, artistic, and policy-making practices alike.
Dr Alexandra Antonopoulou is a UK-based academic at the University of the Arts London and an Honorary Associate Professor at the UCL Institute of Education's Department of Culture, Communication and Media. Her research explores the intersections of media, sustainability, community engagement, and interdisciplinary practice. Alongside her academic work, her artistic practice has been exhibited at leading institutions including the V&A, Tate Modern, and the Design Museum.
