Bonnie gained her DPhil in Experimental Psychology from the University of Oxford and joined City University of Hong Kong as an Assistant Professor upon completing her doctoral training.

Her main research interest lies in the field of developmental psychology, with an emphasis on language and literacy development and second language learning.
