Is the world becoming more religious or less religious?
Join this event to hear Conrad Hackett explore the conflicting narratives about religion in the UK and around the world.
In 2025, there were many news reports about a recent religious revival in the UK. Similar stories of religious resurgence emerged for other European countries and the US. Also in 2025, Pew Research Center released a report describing the opposite pattern – a decline in religion in many countries between 2010 and 2020.
In this presentation, the speaker will make sense of conflicting narratives about religion in the UK and around the world. Furthermore, he will advance a general model of religious change.
This event will be particularly useful to all researchers, policy makers and students who are interested in quantitative social sciences.
