Critical phenomenology as method in African Philosophy of Education
Join this event to hear Dominic Griffiths introduce an emerging project and its potential relevance for African Philosophy of Education.
This presentation introduces an emerging project that develops an approach to African Philosophy of Education grounded in critical phenomenology. Drawing on existential phenomenology and critical Marxism, critical phenomenology examines lived, context-dependent experience shaped by social identity and power. It reveals the intentional structures that render the world intelligible while evaluating how these structures enable or constrain justice, freedom and flourishing. The presentation outlines the method’s conceptual foundations and its potential relevance for African Philosophy of Education
This event will be particularly useful to researchers and teachers who are interested in philosophy of education broadly and African philosophy of education specifically
