Voices in between: Intercultural creativity through storytelling and documentary
Join this event to hear Dr Zozan Balci discuss intercultural creativity and watch a screening of the mini-documentary Say Our Names.
This seminar highlights intercultural creativity through storytelling and documentary as participatory ways of generating knowledge. Led by Dr Zozan Balci, the projects presented in this seminar demonstrate how lived experience itself can offer critical insight into cultural and linguistic diversity.
The session includes a screening of the mini-documentary Say Our Names which explores the politics of name pronunciation in Anglo-centric contexts, showcasing creative methods in action by turning personal narratives into shared understanding. Emphasising a “nothing about us without us” ethos, the seminar invites participants to consider how research can be made accessible to foster dialogue and challenge exclusion.
This event will be particularly useful to researchers, teachers and doctoral students.
