Affordances of adaptive games...
Join this event in collaboration with KU Leuven to hear Fien Depaepe talk about the affordances of educational technology to develop students’ learning.

In this seminar, presented in collaboration with KU Leuven through the ITEC research group, Fien will focus on the affordances of educational technology to develop students’ learning.
One of these affordances is to adapt learning environments to diverse learners’ needs. Fien will present research in which the content and the feedback in the learning environment are adapted to students’ learning needs. Effectiveness in terms of cognitive, non-cognitive, and efficiency outcomes will be described.
Finally, Fien will focus on how a synergy between teachers and technology might be most promising in view of enhancing students’ learning and the competences teachers need for an appropriate integration of technology in their classroom practices.
This event will be particularly useful for teachers and students interested learning technologies, particularly in the synergy between teachers and technology to enhance students’ learning.

The research projects in which Fien is involved have a strong focus on the instructional design and evaluation of technology-enhanced learning environments.
In these different research projects, distinct types of multimodal data are used to model students’ learning, such as self-reports, assignments, log data, physiological, and audiovisual data.
