ReMAP conversations: Ways of machine seeing
Join this event to hear Annie Davey discuss the Ways of Machine Seeing, a collaborative research project involving researchers and artists exploring the visual image amidst the developments in AI.

The research looks at what John Berger’s 1972 analysis of the ideologies of the visual image might offer for our contemporary moment in which the production, circulation and understanding of the image is being profoundly transformed by developments in AI.
In this seminar, Annie will open out the research thus far, and reflect on:
- Overcoming enduring tensions between digital media and art and design education;
- The challenge of ‘collaborative’ research across school and university contexts;
- And grasping the complexities of these issues to develop meaningful and sustainable practice with and for teachers and their students.
This in-person event will be particularly useful for those interested in education, AI, technology and art, and teaching.
