Learners’ experience of flow in foreign language classrooms
Join this event to hear Jean-Marc Dewaele discuss the importance of flow in language learning for its motivational properties.

The introduction of positive psychology in the field of foreign language learning triggered a wave of research on learner emotions. This included new concepts such as foreign language enjoyment and flow.
Jean-Marc will explain the research around the concept of flow, which refers to a consciousness that is harmoniously ordered, where thoughts, actions, and emotions become well-coordinated in performing a challenging task – a prerequisite for enjoyment.
This in-person event will be particularly useful for researchers, teachers and students.
