In this seminar, the speakers will draw on the wider field of global education and learning.

Their presentation will explore action as a central component of the PYP and connect this to the PYP Transdisciplinary themes, which act as the starting point in supporting students’ critical engagement in personal, local and global issues. It will also touch upon issues of critical reflexivity, positionality and supporting contextualisation in diverse school contexts worldwide.

After the presentation, academics from UCL's Development Education Research Centre will provide a brief response and critique, and facilitate an audience Q&A session.

This online event will be particularly useful for educators and professionals working in global education and learning worldwide, and for those with an interest in children and young people’s ethical engagement in local and global issues more broadly.

Development Education Research Centre seminar series

As part of its mission to provide learning and networking opportunities for professionals and students of development education, global learning and global citizenship, the Development Education Research Centre runs an ongoing seminar series. Events are free and open to staff, students, alumni and the public. All are welcome to attend.
