Implementing bilingual education in a multilingual context: Policy, conflicts and practices
Join this event to hear Tzu-Bin Lin discuss the Taiwanese government's new bilingual policy content, the conflicts and debates related to this policy initiative, and the policy's impact on the school system in Taiwan.
In 2019, the Taiwanese government announced their 2030 Bilingual Policy, an attempt to increase the nation's competitiveness by making Taiwan bilingual. The two languages stated in the policy document are Mandarin and English.
In this seminar, Tzu-Bin will reflect on the first five-year practices.
This event will be particularly useful for researchers and teachers.
