This conference is part of the collaborative research project 'Cultural and knowledge exchange between English and Chinese preschools'. The project connects the children and teachers from two preschools in London, UK and Beijing, China to share their experiences in schools.

Speakers will reflect on their practices and engage in dialogues about cross-cultural perspectives.

Agenda

  • Welcome and introduction by the research team (10mins).
  • Teacher presentations (60 mins): English and Chinese teachers from preschools take turn to share their experiences of the cultural-exchange activities.
  • Open discussion and Q&A from audience (30 mins).
  • Final words and celebration of children’s and teachers’ achievements: (10 mins).

This conference will be particularly useful for those interested in early years education, UK-China culture and knowledge exchange.

The research project is a collaboration between the Centre for Teacher and Early Years Education (CTEY) at UCL Institute of Education, the Graduate School of Education at Peking University (PKU) and the Faculty of Education at Beijing Normal University (BNU). It is funded by the UCL-PKU Strategic Partner Funds.
