While institutional diversity has underpinned Australian higher education policy for several decades, the economic fallout of the pandemic has reinvigorated calls for greater differentiation between Australian universities.

This research qualitatively explored the issue through the strategic positioning of universities, with the results providing a counterpoint to what has become a consensus of sector homogeneity.

This event will be particularly useful for those interested in policies and practices in higher education.

CHES research events

CHES research events provide a forum for academic debate, policy analysis and practice insight in higher education, supporting the exchange of theories, methods and data across social sciences.
