VIRTUAL EVENT: Wading through troubled waters on race
In this webinar, Professor Sheron Fraser-Burgess (Ball State University, Indiana) will focus on the conceptual deficit in addressing the racial divide in the United States.

For more information and to register for the event, please contact Alison Brady.
In this event, Professor Sheron Fraser-Burgess will explore Cornel West’s Black prophetic corrective of political pragmatism.
Drawing on Brettschneider’s (2007) formulation of the problem of marginalisation, she argues that West offers a pragmatic reconstruction of democracy that introduces a category of participatory democratic discourse called race talk.
The monuments controversy is offered as an example.
