In this International Literacy Centre seminar, Robert will present findings from a recent intervention study (Savage et al., 2018) and ongoing follow-up trial with the Education Endowment Foundation of Flexible Phonics.
This approach combines direct mapping and set-for-variability approaches. By linking this work to issues in classroom practice, the seminar will open up discussion on key issues that teachers face in teaching phonics from a practice perspective, and how they can best support children's learning.
