Thresholds of Touch: a short performative experiment in tactile exploration
A playful and interactive exploration of what digital touch interaction is and might come to be.
Thresholds of Touch is an interactive performance-experiment that combines poetic, personal accounts of touch experiences, new materials, electronic sound, bodily interaction and digital technologies.
Through this range of artistic propositions, you will be challenged to experience and explore the politics and aesthetics of human and non-human touch.
The performance-experiment is followed by an exploratory workshop that extends the themes of the performance to generate accounts and stories of touch and interrogate our tactile imaginations of digital touch communication.
This is one of four sessions being repeated over two days. Other sessions will be held at 10:30am-12:30pm, 2-4pm and 7-9pm on Thursday 23 January.
It is a collaboration between performance artist Marloeke van der Vlugt, composer, theatre maker and researcher Falk Hübner, and the IN-TOUCH project, supported by the ERC and HKU University of the Arts Utrecht.
