The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD)’s new central positioning in the field of education and development has been facilitated through two means:

  1. by the extension of PISA (Programme for International Student Assessment) with the introduction of PISA-D (PISA for Development) so that, in future, the assessments can include more low- and middle-income nations,
  2. by means of the OECD's ongoing assessment of Global Competence which was 'inspired' by the United Nation's Sustainable Development Goals.

Speakers: Professor Elaine Unterhalter and Professor Paul Morris
Chair: Dr Laila Kadiwal
