Bloomsbury Studio, 15 Gordon Street London, WC1H 0AH
'CCÀ SEMU, here we are. Lives on hold in Lampedusa', is a film about how the people from the Italian island of Lampedusa deal with the challenges of the so-called Mediterranean migration 'crisis', while trying to respond to the local struggles of their isolated community.
The film, by the Italian director Luca Vullo, is based on research by Dr Michela Franceschelli and was funded by UCL Seed Funding and UCL Grand Challenges Justice and Equality. The film and presentation of the research project will be followed by a Q&A.
The event is hosted by the Department of Social Science, Thomas Coram Research Unit, and The Sociology and Social Theory Research Group (SSTRG).
