Climate, Learning and Environment Academic Network (CLEAN)
CLEAN is an interdisciplinary, collaborative community conducting innovative research meeting the challenges of the climate crisis.
We are facing growing and unprecedented challenges due to the effects of human-driven climate change. The impact of this crisis will have far-reaching effects in every area of life and society on our planet, although such effects are and will continue to be unevenly distributed at the local, national and global levels.
The social sciences have a key role to play in responding to these challenges. Understanding global climate justice, issues of inequality, the role of the environment and nature in physical and mental wellbeing and how these are both impact and are impacted by climate change, climate activism and social change, are some of the areas of expertise and interest of our research group.
Our core aims are to foster an interdisciplinary, collaborative research community in this area, to conduct innovative research that will support our ability to meet the challenges, and to facilitate open dialogue about the climate crisis and governance through our research and events.
